My Mom loves the Thanksgiving: A Windham Hill Collection and would like the piano accompaniment for track 2, Bygone Days by Eileen Ivers. Her birthday is in late December and I'd like to buy it for her, if I can find it. [more inside]

I'm looking for a song with little to go on: I'm nearly (but not entirely) certain it was sung by Andy Stewart; it's basically a humorous ballad (in the story-telling sense) which ends up with the protagonist making a hasty exit from town, quite possibly chased by men with swords, quite possibly pulling his pants up as he goes, with a genius lyric in there somewhere on the important of learning discretion as the better part of valor.

Appalachian mountain music and bluegrass owe a lot to the songs and styles brought to Appalachia by Scottish settlers who came from those highlands to the US highlands. Still, the music is different from most Celtic styles. How have musical styles in Scotland been affected by bluegrass, and what are some examples?

Looking for recommendations for non-lame Celtic music. I like the instrumental, complex stuff. I hate the cheesy "world beat" or simplistic poppy crap.

I have recently developed an interest in Celtic (Irish/Celtic) and Welsh Mythology as well as in books like _The King of Elfland's Daughter_ by Dunsany and _The Once and Future King_ by TH White. Any reocmmendations for nonfiction that covers the mythology or fiction that uses it?
