Forgot to take celexa for 2 days - what can I now?

I'm on 20mg day of citalopram/celexa for generalised anxiety. I stupidly forgot to take it over the weekend. Have found it and taken today's dose but can already feel withdrawal anxiety amping up. Is there anything I can do to make this less painful until it gets back into my system? I work from home so suffer from loneliness and lack of distractions, though I have meetings with a nice colleague tomorrow. I also have a legal appointment on Thursday that is making me very anxious.

Missed escitalopram dose and side effects.

I missed my daily dose of 10mg of lexapro. (I am out of the country for a long spell otherwise I'd ask my doctor!) I swear all day and the next I was depressed and anxious in a way I haven't felt since I started the drug. However, from what I understand of the drug, this seems unlikely to be related physically. Is this evidence on the side of the argument, that the positive effects are largely psychological? Or is the contrary true?

Teenage Boy, SSRI Change for Weight Gain

Kinetic 3, 15, was diagnosed with OCD and has been on Celexa for 7 years. Over the past few years, despite working with a nutritionist, eating a healthy diet and getting lots of exercise, his weight has ballooned into the technically obese category. He's 5'5" and weighs over 155 lbs. Going to see prescribing psychiatrist next week to consider changing medications, looking for advice. My son is a healthy, active kid. He runs, bikes, hikes, kayaks, swims. He eats colorful foods, a mostly vegetarian diet and very little in the way of bread, pasta, potatoes, junk food, ice cream, soda, etc. He's worked with a nutritionist who feels that his diet and portion sizes are fine and she thinks at this point, he needs to consider a medication change. I'd like to go to the prescribing doctor with some knowledge. [more inside]

Can/should I just go to another doctor for my psych meds?

Yesterday I went to a psychiatric nurse practitioner to get my anxiety meds refilled after having to change psychiatrists after grad school. He wants to take me off the 2 meds I've taken for years, put me on a new one, and doesn't agree with a 2nd diagnosis I had while in grad school. I feel uncomfortable with this and want to stay with my current meds. But it's not easy to see a psychiatrist soon as a new patient. Be my reality check here? [more inside]

Celexa's not working anymore. Should I give Prozac a shot again?

I've been taking Celexa for a year and 9 months. It doesn't work as well anymore, and due to FDA warnings, I don't want to up my dosage anymore (currently at 40mg/day). I took Prozac a dozen years ago and it worked well. Should I switch back to Prozac? [more inside]

This is NOT a Happy New Year kind of day.

I woke up today with strong feelings of fear, and I'm not sure exactly what's going on. I need help in getting a handle on them, figuring them out or otherwise learning how to deal because this is NOT how I wanted to start the new year. I'm also not sure if this is related to being sick, having surgery, and missing meds in the past 4 days. Please help!! [more inside]

Switching Anti-Depressants

Is there really no important difference between Lexapro and Celexa, as my pharmacist claims? I have new insurance that might require switching from L to C. I have had very good results with L, but can't pay full price.

I don't know why they call it the Great Depression. Great makes you think there were Pony Rides.

Now, after a really bad episode of Depression that has lasted the last 14 months, my doctor has prescribed Celexa for my depression. I just started taking it today and seemed to have a rather mild, pleasant day. I was on Paxil years ago and it didn't go as well. I know that YANMD, but I'd like some real world experiences. I have a few specific questions I'd love other Celexa users to answer. Please feel free to offer other advice as well. [more inside]

Savage Citalopram/Celexa withdrawl headaches.

I have recently stopped taking Citalopram over 10 days, since then I've had a permanent headache which has lasted 4 weeks to date and seen me visit A&E twice. Currently I have been prescribed and am taking : Morphine, Voltarol, CO-codomol and Sodium Valproate which are only providing limited relief. I am also seeing a Neurologist and Psychiatrist who as of yet have failed to diagnose the problem. Has anyone had similar effect ? If so, what was the diagnosis and resolution ?
