I'm trying to find the name of or clips from an animated film that I saw on HBO or Showtime in the mid-1980s. It was about a robot who was looking for its mother. Some of the other robots said "One! One! One!" a lot. And there was a dumb joke in the middle: "Did you hear the one about the fire in the circus? The heat was intense!" Can anyone help?

It's an animated short from (probably) Liquid Television in the early nineties. It's got explorers on ships that find a new world and change the natives with religion and money. It's backed by an old song in Spanish from a scratchy record that I can remember no words to. [more inside]

Flash animators: When I export my flash cartoon to quicktime, moving objects leave behind horrible artifacts. Apparently I am not the only one with this problem. If Flash's quicktime export is so crummy, how do the professionals publish their cartoons to video? [more inside]

Where The New Comics At?: In addition to my many other hats I may be getting a job reviewing new erotica/sexuality/explicit etc comics in the future. I'd get my pick of any comic/graphic novel to review as long as it includes some element or discussion of sex or sexuality or whatever. The problem is that I have no idea what the new releases are and I can't seem to find a centralized list of upcoming titles with enough description. [more inside]

I work in a lab with rhesus monkeys. They need names. For reasons of historical precedent and notational convenience, lab animals are usually named alphabetically, from A ("Abe") until you run out of monkeys. For reasons of awesomeness, we're naming our monkeys after spunky cartoon characters. So, please help me come up with the best comic/cartoon/superhero names for each letter of the alphabet. This has been driving me crazy, and I'm obviously a weaker google user than I thought. I used to watch a cartoon on Saturday mornings and I have no idea what it was, or even if it was real. My recollection is hazy and may incorporate any number of other childhood memories and red herring elements, but I'm hoping someone can help me out! [more inside]

I am trying to find a cartoon where one caveman says to another something like: "Where's Link? He's missing." I thought it was a Far Side cartoon, but I looked through the entire Far Side collection and couldn't find it. I'd like to use it in a talk I am giving. I would also appreciate pointers to other "link" cartoons.

Can you help me remember this barely remembered cartoon from my childhood? A community of alien looking people live on a floating island and go out in flying boats to catch flying whales. Every so often one of them would turn blue and die, and they would throw him down a well. The well was actually a hole passing through the island and as the body fell it would turn into a new sky whale. Any ideas?

I'm looking for a multi-panel cartoon about two sharks. So far the only thing I've found via Google is frustration. Here's what I remember: the female shark is angry and the male shark keeps asking: "Is it something I did?" "Is it something I said?" etc... She always says "No" until he asks something complicated like "Is it something I said but that I should've said with more respect for your feelings?" to which she says: "Maybe." I kiss the Mefite who can find it!
