What's my job title?

I've worked in an evolving role for a growing company for more than a decade. I've learnt a lot of skills along the way but my degree is not in any of these skill areas. My job title is a bit of an odd one that doesn't really describe what I do and is rather misleading. If I wanted to get a new job, what are some job titles I should be searching for that fit my experience? [more inside]

So confused/indecisive about work and career as a mom

What would you do in my situation (regarding career and life decisions)?

It seems for years I have been unhappy because I have a lot of drive to do something with my life, but for the love of God I just can't settle into a direction. I am currently in university taking a pre-masters to go into urban planning but I just feel like I don't really know what I'm doing or if I will like it. I am curious if others have been in a similiar situation before and if so how did they find their way? Also if you could read my extended explanation and tell me what you would do in my situation or offer any advice I would love to hear it. [more inside]

Making the leap from amateur to professional - engineering

I've been looking for some time now for a new career path - beyond just "whatever job I can get right now" and into something secure, with a future and where I've got a genuine interest. I've worked in the non-technical side of radio broadcasting in the past, and radio technology (through ham radio) has been my hobby for many years. Academia->Industry. How should I prepare myself?

I'm in a temporary faculty position in computer science. Careers related to women's sexuality and health?

Lately, I've noticed that I am very passionate about things having to do with sexuality, especially women’s sexuality and health. What careers exist related to this passion? So far I've thought of a nurse practitioner specializing in women's health, a certified nurse midwife, a pelvic physical therapist, an ob/gyn, and an industrial designer specializing in sexuality or women's health (if that job even exists). What are these careers like on a day-to-day basis? What other careers relating to sexuality are out there? Would any of these careers work for me? Snowflakes inside. [more inside]

Difficult dilemma - pursue MBA or apply for well paid permanent job?....

I'm fast approaching 36 this year and have had a varied career. You could same i'm a jack of all trades but master of none, what with undertaking lots of roles and completing a business degree at 33. For the past couple of years, the job market has been tough. I've undertaken a couple of 6-9 month job contracts as a temp, whilst also experiencing a length period of unemployment. I loved the experience academia brought and I excelled during this journey, developing some great skills. I've just been accepted to do the MBA part time and have been in my current contract 15 months.
