So it's time for us to put our son on the pre-school waiting list in the City of Cambridge. Except we are close to three possible schools and there are no ranks, no preferences - if the school is on the list and there is space, you must take it. We don't know anyone whose kids have gone to any of these preschools, Morse, Kings, King Open, etc. So throwing this out to askmefi: if you have any experiences with preschools in Cambridge, MA, please share! I am particularly concerned about provider availability to children, sensitivity to allergy/nutrition concerns, diversity, gender roles enforcement ("You can't cry, you're a boy." "Girls can't play with cars.") and relationships among the parents of the children.

I live in Cambridge, MA and share a two-bedroom apt with one roommate. We are women in our early 30's. I've been in the home for 2.5 years, with a different roommate each year. I loved my first two roommates. I invited my current roommate to move in this past Sept (met her through Craig's List) and we're a good fit. I have a sudden, burning urge to move into my own (1 bedroom) apt. Do I ask her permission, or just tell her I'm moving?

We just adopted a dog and and are looking for a good dog walker in Cambridge, MA to take out him out four times a week. how to find trustworthy and high quality tradesmen in England? In Particular in or close to Cambridgeshire UK.
I've seen a few sites that purport to offer crowdsource reviews of tradesmen but they have a small number of tradesman and few if any reviews which means I can't place too much weight on them. Something like tripadvisor would be awesome as from experience I know that there are so many untrustworthy people doing these jobs.
