My (small) company provides services in people's homes. We'd like to use electronic maps to plan technician routes and better understand where our clients are geographically. What (Mac-compatible) software or web service might help with this?

I want a contact management system that will remind me to:
(1) follow up with new people I meet, and track when I do, and
(2) reach out to those people on a regular basis (and track when I do).
Please share your own app-based or text-based system for doing this!

My customers will sign up for weekly, bi-weekly or monthly shipments of a product. After I've processed their payment, what are some online customer database solutions for managing my current customers and generating things like shipping labels and order forms so that each week I can pack my boxes full of product and ship them?

My business is booming and it's driving me crazy! The process that worked when only a few orders trickled in isn't scaling and I am finding myself prisoner to my workflow.
Email and google spreadsheet is clearly not cutting it and I need input on a project management or order system.

I need to organise some kind of database for my non-profit training organisation, to track students, courses taken, etc in Moodle, and possibly to integrate with a Joomla site as well. I've been told that Access will not work for us. Will a Customer Relations Management thing suit us, or is something more required? If so, what should we be looking for? I want to have a large number of unique URLs, all pointing to the same content. Like a million of 'em, so we can track individual recipients' behaviors online; one URL (or set of related URLs) per recipient (say we're sending them an email or a postcard with a QR code).

I'm running OS X 10.7.2 and I need to access a Microsoft Dynamics CRM system. It won't work in FF, Safari or Chrome; it only wants IE. Of course, no versions of IE will work post-Lion (no more Rosetta). Is there any OS X native solution to this?

(Mac-based) small business software and integration -- don't know what exactly I'm looking for here, which makes it tough to ask questions and find solutions! Currently using a cobbled-together mix of programs and web-based software (AccountEdge, e-junkie, more), but I am wondering if I could streamline/improve/do things differently.

I started using Harvest about a month ago for invoicing and I love it. Now, I'm looking for a similar product for very basic CRM. So basic, in fact, that I'm not sure you'd even call it CRM. I want something that will allow me to keep a client's contact information and, in a fast, super-easy, as-few-clicks-as-possible way, let me schedule a reminder for a specific date and time or "two weeks from now" or "every Tuesday."

My company is looking for a comprehensive package to manage our IT company, which has grown 1000% over the past 4.5 years. I believe we have outgrown our existing solution.
It has to be scalable, user friendly, integrate with Quickbooks, ideally would integrate with Kaseya, and generally be a very full solution.
Honestly,
Autotask is the best thing we have found, but it is not an option as we cannot host it ourself. Outsourcing all client data to another company means we are beholden to that company for life and that is not an option.
We tested Commit but the web interface just wasn't robust. The program itself was very functional, but the interface would lead one to believe that it was intended for smaller shops so we are going to stay away from it.
All suggestions and critiques are welcome.

Hello MeFi peoples, I am trying to find the tool or tools to run my sustainable business consulting practice, which I started in August, and I've been going a bit nuts with too many choices. I've been looking all over, and am getting near hits, but all "not quite there"s. Highrise sort of works, but has some quirks that that it doesn't hit the mark, and it's missing some of what I want to do. Daylite looks interesting, but no...well I'll explain below. Basecamp, same thing. Copper, ditto. Help me find the needle(s) in the haystack!

Anyone know of a super simple, web based contact/history manager? A client is looking to upgrade from an old FileMaker database. It's an order-based business, but there are also consultations, interviews, etc. that happen with some customers. I'd like to find an app that I can export customers and order details from the website to and add a history function so that he can pull up a complete profile on the customer when he talks with them on the phone.
Ideally, it would be an open source app that I can run on a local web server, but I suppose a hosted app would be fine as well. I've tried SugarCRM but it has way too much functionality for this type of business. Thanks, Hivemind!
