A friend is considering starting a non-profit. Since the beginning, he's been thinking it will be a non-profit but recently, someone who specializes in helping develop social entrepreneurs told him that type structure would be better for this reason ... [more inside]
I want to know what the market is for freelance reporters to sell their ability to do stories to radio stations across the country (or maybe in general). I don't know what a reporter might charge for freelancing the reporting, producing, writing and voicing of a story or what would compel a station to hire them And does there exist a collective or consortium of freelancers who have managed to turn that into a business model, like a narrowly focused employment agency or maybe even a talent agency. Does anybody know where I can find data on both?
I am working on a project where I am trying to find contributions made between businesses and political parties. One man bands do everything but seem to burn out faster, and I don't want to do that. I need help. [more inside]

Overstock.com has just started something called the "Main Street Initiative" where they create and promote small business microsites. I have a few questions about this. [more inside]
Is there any research that has been done on the idea that lower, subordinate offices aspire to, or are geared (through staffing, logistically, policy or philosophically-wise) to, if not emulate, please its higher office, regardless of its technical mission? [more inside]
LinkedIn advises that I don't invite people into my network that I don't know. But isn't that what joining a business related social network is supposed to do - introduce me to opportunities from people I've never met? [more inside]
