What are the dates for the 9th and 20th business day for the rest of this year and all of next year?

This is a slightly strange one, so bear with me if you will! I have been building a rubber-band ball ever since I read the Warren Buffett biography "Snowball". I wanted something in my office that symbolized the snowball idea -- little achievements that gradually grow into something big -- and that I had made myself. It is growing pretty big right now. It occurred to me the other day that a successful strategy requires a dual approach. So now I am thinking that slow and steady is only half the picture. The other half is impulse, intuition, go-with-your-gut and, as my handle indicates, seat-of-my-pants! My question: What can I put in my office that symbolizes this spontaneous trait. The ying to the yang of snowball. The quantum-leap approach, if you will! I want to have something that is either interactive or made by myself so that it is not just an inanimate glump sitting on a shelf. Thank you for indulging me and I look forward to your insights.

A colleague has asked me to share an office space with her. We are not in the same place financially in our careers. I'm trying to figure out what would be a fair deal for both of us, but I can't seem to get my head around the business logic. Can you guys help? [more inside]
Is there any research that has been done on the idea that lower, subordinate offices aspire to, or are geared (through staffing, logistically, policy or philosophically-wise) to, if not emulate, please its higher office, regardless of its technical mission? [more inside]

Small Office/Outlook Filter: I'm part of a small, family-run non-profit organization and we're attempting to drag ourselves, screaming, into the 21st century. Right now the main email is AOL and has been for years. (I know, I know.) We want to transition to a setup that allows us to have our own emails, yet share calendars and tasks. With our setup, what advice can you give on our setup? (more inside) [more inside]

Our company is looking to open a second office out of the state. We're an engineering firm with about 50 people providing civil engineering, surveying, GIS, and traffic/transportation services. Several of our employees will be relocating to North Carolina (we're currently in Florida), so we're using this opportunity to expand our business to a new market. We've been discussing doing this for a long time now, but not quite this far away... Does anyone know of any resources to assist in opening a second office or a branch office? We've got so much to think about in so little time (we're trying to do this by years end), I'd really like to find some tips on getting this done smoothly. Thanks!

Mac OSX Server Backup question: what's the best way to ensure that my small office doesn't lose the data we store on our file server? Right now we use Retrospect with a tape drive, but it's not an ideal solution, because finding stuff on the tape is a huge pain, and the time required to maintain it is lost time. Should we go with a portable external hard drive (someone brings the tapes home just in case of fire or explosion)? Or purchase an off-site solution?
