BusinessDilemmaFilter: Me and a coworker have decided to start a side business doing IT work for small business's and residential work. Heres the dilemma, We both work for the IT department at our current employer and we are each on call 1 week out of the month. Even know our side business is after hours and on weekends should we inform our current boss? Pros/Cons? Whats the best way to approach this? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure this question will not make me the most popular student at the dance, but is there a way to identify (via IP) machines running BitTorrent clients within an internal network (ie. work)?
My company has around 50 employees, and the old, "Please don't torrent at work" doesn't seem to be doing much good anymore.
It brings our email and web browsing to a near standstill, and dropping by the "usual suspects" is not only tiresome, but doesn't seem to find all the sources of traffic any longer.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm starting a small PC repair business to make some extra money, and I'm looking for suggestions for a clever (but not too cutesy) descriptive business name. I'll primarily be doing in-home (or drop-off) hardware and software troubleshooting, but no major hardware modifications. Come to think of it, would that even qualify as computer "repair" since I won't be tinkering with the computer's physical components? Looking forward to your suggestions.

For a friend, "I run a small computer consulting business on the side in my spare time. I have a bit over two dozen clients and do regular work for a handful of them. My question is, does it make sense to go thru the process of creating a business? What advantages or disadvantages would this give me? How much would it cost?
