Hello. The other Boston area marriage counseling posts are several years old. I hope metafilter can help me find a good marriage counselor. My husband and have been together for 17 years, married for four years. He is at his wits end dealing with my depression (which I'm currently in treatment for). We need to talk to someone soon. Please give me some recommendations of good couples counselors.

Okay, situation. I need a 'yes this kid is messed-up' note from a doc/therapist/something to stay enrolled in the context of a history of major stretches of no-shows-to-class, no-turning-stuff-in etc. I'm extremely unfamiliar with the institutional health system so pardon me if this is a stupid question but is there such a thing as providers who'll diagnose/vouch for you with depression/ADD/whatever the eff my problem is within DAYS? like a week in ultimate maximum? I need a therapist. I recently moved to the Boston area, I don't really know anybody, and Psychology Today isn't doing it for me. I know that I'm clinically depressed (runs in the family, and relatives who are docs say so), and it's gotten worse of late. It's ruining my job, my life, and my sleep.
