I'm planning on taking a solo trip to Berlin for a week. As a general guideline, if I stick to cafes (and the occasional doner kebab) how much should I expect to spend on food?

My friends went to Germany on a whim and now they are cold and miserable until their flight back in early February. I don't want them to give up hope. What are some truly awesome things that they can do in Berlin and the surrounding areas in the coming weeks?

Can anyone please point me in the direction of a great place to watch the next leg (Malaysia) of the Formula 1 in Berlin next weekend? Going to Berlin for a few days and I would love to find some fellow F1 fans.

I'm considering going abroad to study for the bar exam during June and July. I'd like to go somewhere interesting, fun, and also relatively inexpensive. Two places I'm considering are Berlin and Buenos Aires. Assuming I rent an apartment for two months (probably shared), and live a decent but non-extravagant student's lifestyle (I'll be studying during the days, but will still have nights and weekends free to explore and have some fun), how much can I expect to spend per month in each city? Any other suggestions for inexpensive but fun cities?

I'd like to travel around Germany for a few days before ending up in Berlin on 28th December for New Year's. Assuming I can actually leave the UK and get to Germany does anyone have suggestions for places to go, things to see; someone recommended Christmas markets to me?

I loathe Ryanair. I need to get back to London from Berlin next Friday, and I don't want to fly Ryanair, but all the flights on other airlines are hideously expensive. Before I succumb, I was thinking about catching a fast train from Berlin to somewhere in Germany not too far away with an airport, then catching a flight to London from there. Any suggestions on airports within two hours of Berlin on the fast train that have regular flights to London?

London to Berlin by train. The best option I've found is Eurostar to Paris then sleeper to Berlin for £250. This seems expensive. Are there faster/cheaper options?

My boyfriend and I will be meeting my dad in Berlin in mid-September. I've never been to Germany and my boyfriend has never been to Switzerland, and we'll be there a total of 10 days. How should we split up our time, and what should we see? My dad will be renting a car, so we're planning on driving between cities. Any suggestions are appreciated!

So I appear to be trapped in Paris. Flew to Europe over the holidays for a conference in Berlin, and thought I'd spend a week in Paris and fly out of there instead. British Airways is informing me they'd like about a grand to get me out of Paris, and no less if I take the chunnel up to London to catch the London-SFO leg there. Best option I've found is to try to delay the return flight until I can actually make my way back to Berlin (it's too late now). Still on hold finding out how painful that's going to be. Anyone have any better ideas?

Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay in Berlin (and possibly Prague) in June? Europe is expensive for us, so it needs to be fairly low price - around 50 euros a night for a double room (65$, 35 GBP (wow, the dollar is low!)). It would be nice to find something a bit more unusual/friendly than an Ibis. Central location (or public transport at a push) and clean. Thanks.
