So Belize has some pretty backwards laws regarding gays and who can and cannot enter their country. Is this something that we should *actually* to worry about? Or, what are some alternate travel destinations we should be considering?

I'll be traveling to Belize this summer and would like to use my Verizon iPhone 4s, which I will have unlocked from Verizon by that time, for local voice and data calls. I'll
I plan on using Talkatone for making wifi only calls back to the US as well as using the data part from the SIM Card to text back to the US while I'm there.
It would be nice to be able to purchase a SIM Card here in the States before traveling, but I'm not against purchasing a SIM Card at or near BZE Airport when we arrive.
Thank you for your time. I do appreciate it.

Best way to get a package to Belize (Dangriga/Hopkins) inexpensively? We want to help out the village futbol (soccer) team, but all the options look to break the bank...

Thinking of going to Ambergris Caye in mid-March. We were last there in 1998... how has it changed, for better or worse? And ideas of places to stay, preferably in or very close to San Pedro, with a kitchen?

The Lady and I are taking our first cruise this Sunday. Leaving New Orleans and heading to Belize, Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. I've been to N.O. before, but neither of us have been any of the other places. Any pro-tips, suggestions or amusing anecdotes about any of those places? We really have no idea what to expect...

My boyfriend, my father, and I are going to take a trip together in
September. My boyfriend and I are in our early 30s, fairly active, and
are interested in beaches, ruins, rainforests/jungles, white water
rafting, and possibly scuba diving. My dad is in his late 50s, quite
overweight (like probably 150-200 lbs overweight), and enjoys luxury hotels, relaxing, and fun stuff that's not TOO physically taxing. I haven't seen him in a few years, but he may be interested in white water rafting and scuba diving, if his weight isn't an issue. We're looking at somewhere in Central America, most likely Belize or the Yucatan, but we're also considering Costa Rica and are open to other suggestions.

I'd like to get some recommendations on travelling to Belize. I'm planning my first out-of-country trip ever from the US to Belize. I have never travelled outside of the country before and need some pointers on international travel in general and travelling to Belize specifically. I would like to stay on Caye Caulker and visit the
Great Blue Hole and a couple of cave systems. I'm perfectly happy lounging by the sea in a hammock with an umbrella drink, but I'd also like to do something fun or exciting I can only do in Belize.

I am in the middle of planning a trip to Belize for this February. From what I've read, the roads are bumpy, and you have to take little boats to the snorkeling spots. I get motion sick. Am I going to be miserable in Belize?

So
Taksi Putra has challenged me to a 'chili-off' in Central America (Mexico, Guatemala, Belize) this summer.
What should we eat and where?
Higher on the Scoville the better.
Anything east of Baja is fair game. If it sounds tasty and is super-hot, we'll hunt it down.

I'm going on vacation in two weeks...the vacation was planned sort of on a whim about a month ago, and one thing I hadn't considered was vaccines. Now, being a worrywart and knowing I have hypochondriac potential, I am freaking out wondering if one of the planned activities is too risky. Please help me decide whether I should cancel this activity, or whether I am being insane.

Do any of you live in Belize? A friend of mine is toying with the idea of retiring in Belize and frankly he's got me curious as well. Have any of you actually done this or know anyone who has and would be willing to chat with him about it? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking to elope later this year. The plan is to go on honeymoon to a place like Belize, starting off (there) with a simple, unattended ceremony. What are the implications of getting married outside of the US, and what sort of things do I need to do prior to the trip down there? Is this a bad idea?
