Interested in a Netbook or lower power laptop that runs cool (doesn't require external cooling like
this) and has long (6-8 hour) battery life. Would like to run Windows 7 so Chromebook is not a good candidate for me. And of course want to come in around $200. I know there a lot of candidates here but would really appreciate user's real life experience. Thanks.

I have an older MacBook I use when travelling (four or five times a year), and then the odd occasion when I am away from my office desktop. The battery on the MacBook died a few months ago, and I am guessing partially because I haven't been using it frequently enough. I am hesitant to replace the battery, figuring the same thing will happen again, is that right? Is there a downside to not having a working battery on the computer itself? And lastly, is there a problem with leaving the dead battery in the computer?

I inherited a
1988 John Deere 160LT Lawn Tractor. It has been difficult to start. I was advised that my battery did not have enough cold cranking amps, sp I bought a more powerful twelve-volt battery today and I still cannot start the mower. I can, however, hear a click inside the engine compartment each time I turn the key.

Is my ipad2 up to the job? I have to give the same hour-long presentation in three separate sessions in one day. I am planning to use Keynote on my ipad2 attached to a projector but I'm worried about battery life on the iPad. Does anybody have experience using their iPad in this way? I will of course, turn off every battery draining thing I can find. I could also switch to my iPhone 4S if I had to, I guess. Will I be okay for three presentations?

I'm trying to resurrect an old Casio CPS-85 88 key keyboard. When it was given to me, the power jack was cracked, so I desoldered it and soldered on a new one. No luck; I can't get power (even with a different power supply). So I'm stuck running off of a lot of D batteries. As using D cells is both wasteful and expensive.is there any way for me to rig an external power supply to the battery terminals in a safe manner?

Follow up to previous question....4yo Dell Inspiron laptop suddenly giving me the old "Plugged in but not charging" routine. Froze the battery for a day but no luck. So I bought a nice new one from Amazon that charged right up and worked for a week. No this one is giving me the same message. Any ideas? Or a place to turn to troubleshoot things? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you trust third-party batteries for your cellphone? Specifically I'm thinking about picking up some spare batteries for the HTC Evo, but I've been a non-removable battery phone user for so long that I don't know if I really should stick to the manufacturer's branded batteries or can safely save some money and look elsewhere (like a Seidio, for example).

Help us diagnose our Ford F150: what could be draining down the (new) battery overnight? We're suddenly seeing apparent battery drainage in our pickup truck, a 1994 Ford F150. Though the truck starts up fine, the dashboard battery gauge reads low immediately upon ignition, the windshield wipers are sluggish, and the dashboard lights are dim. We thought the old battery was likely dying, so we had it replaced with a new battery... but that hasn't solved the problem.
