I punctured the sealed bag encasing my Ipod replacement battery and I can smell a sweet gas. Nice right?

I just got a new battery in my ipod. The instructions say I need to charge it for a few hours before using. Is there any reason for me not to unplug it before it fully charges and start using it?

I'm looking for an external battery for my 5G iPod. Less than $100, at least five hours, the smaller the better. Any suggestions?

I have a third generation ipod with the now-infamous crappy battery that falls just outside eligibility for the lawsuit reimbursement. All ranting aside, if I spend the $59 to get a new battery, is it actually going to last any longer than the lame original? Or am I better off investing in a new player altogether?

Should I leave my iPod plugged in? I really like listening to my iPod's music through iTunes while at my computer. Will leaving it plugged in a majority of the time help or hurt the overall battery life?

iPod help: My 5-Gig, Touchwheel iPod is hung and displays the following message: "No battery power remains. Please connect iPod to power." However, the iPod had 2/3s of a charge before it hung and does not accept a charge when I plug it in. I am unable to reset the iPod and it refuses all keyboard input. It has displayed this message for almost two days now. The iPod also does not register in the Finder of either of my computers. Should I buy a new battery or is the iPod dead?
