I am having my bathroom professionally remodeled and I am strongly considering having the shower floor made out of wood (most likely Teak or Ipe), resting over conventional concrete drainage. Any experience, advice or vendor referrals from people who have done this or from professionals would be appreciated. I'm particularly concerned with the ongoing maintenance and durability compared to traditional pebble or tile shower flooring. Is it worth the elegance and tactile comfort enhancements?

The entire bathroom gets completely soaked from the steam/spray every time I take a shower. What kind of showerhead should I get to prevent this?

My shower (in a rental apartment) needs help in two ways. 1) I need to find a way to get the curtain farther out, with the complicating factor that the curtain is on an L-shaped rod (similar to
this one). 2) My shower head puts out a piddly amount of water. I need one that will actually use the full water pressure available, and which is on a hose. Mefites, what do you recommend?

DIY bathroom remodel: I'm looking for small, and especially
short, inexpensive, off-the-shelf shower options. Do you know where to find showers sorted by size? Do you know where to find oddly-sized home products? Do you have obscure and wonderful knowledge about shower stall options?

I have two toilets with standard 4" toilet connections, mounted on a solid concrete floor. I would like to replace
one toilet with a shower. Have you done this before? How do I do it? What problems will I face?

I need to repaint a section of damaged-and-repaired sheetrock above my shower, but I can't seem to get the primer (Killz, anti-fungal and water-based) to stick. It goes on okay, but peels away at a touch.

What do I do about this shower situation? The step down shower floor is a mess and has tile sticking up from it, it's lumpy and uneven. I'm in charge of getting this bathroom put together, and I want to make sure it's done correctly. Tools don't scare me.

Now I need help choosing tile for the shower floor. Is the one I picked going to hurt me? I know you are not my tile setter but I've got to order tile soon. Testing the tile before ordering is not an option.

Last Wednesday I was assaulted by a foul smell in my front (guest) bathroom. I have been trying to pinpoint the cause for several days. I'm about to go out of town and need advice on what to do, especially since I'm extremely broke and have tried all the usual methods of attack. Details inside...

An extremely foul smell (not a shit smell -- I can't place it) has been starting up in my bathroom a short time after the shower is turned on. It doesn't seem to be the water itself that smells, but I can't tell where the smell comes from. When the shower is off, the smell eventually clears and doesn't return until the shower is turned on again. Any idea what could be going on?

Seen any pretty shower curtains? Bonus points for colorful, abstract designs.
(Also, are there any tricks to keep mildew from savaging the part that drags against the tub?)

Why does the shower curtain act like there's a draft at the bottom of it when I take a hot shower? I don't
feel a breeze down there. This has always made me feel vaguely uneasy--cue Psycho music--and it's time to get an answer.
