I am interested in speaking with people involved with the underground newspaper
Dragonseed (or
Dragon Seed), published in Baltimore and/or Timonium, MD, around 1972-1973. (No, I am not looking for folks involved with
Dragonseed Harry.) Most of the contributors used only first names or pseudonyms. What would be the best way to get the word out about this? I was thinking about an ad in the
City Paper, but I'm not sure people actually
read ads like that.

Me and the missus are meeting her parents in Annapolis this weekend. Of the four of us, two are enthusiastic omnivores, one loosely follows Atkins' diet (low carb) and one is intolerant of dairy and even small amounts of capsaicin. None of us are at all familiar with Annapolis. We'll be there for about 2 days, and have one car. Where should we eat?

My husband and I just moved to Baltimore for me to attend graduate school. We're currently living in Mt. Vernon and are curious what things there are to do with a one year old around here (that are safe) preferable within a walking distance (parks, playgrounds, etc). Suggestions are appreciated!

I've got maybe a day to kill with my wife and kid in Baltimore... never really been there before, so what are some must-see things in the area? I've vaguely heard something about cherry blossoms... when do those bloom or where is the best place to view them? I'll be going in mid-April, so I've got some time to plan. TIA!

Just moved to Baltimore (working in Columbia), haven't had time to unpack let alone find a new PCP, and wouldn't you know it, i'm sick. Does anyone have any recommendations for a drop-in clinic or urgent care facility in the Laurel-Ellicott City-Columbia area that (a) won't charge ER rates and (b) has decent staff? I found several when I googled, but have no way to evaluate them other than google recommendations. Bonus points if you can ALSO recommend other good practitioners (I need a primary care physician, an endocrinologist and a dermatologist) in that area or the south side of Baltimore for when I have time to set up appointments for initial visits.

I'm trying to plan a scavenger hunt in Baltimore for a group of college students. The sites should all be related to literature, film, or TV. For example, the site of Dashiell Hammett's detective agency, or the Owl Bar where F. Scott Fitzgerald drank. Ideally I'd like all the sites to be within walking distance of each other. I'm looking for site suggestions and clue suggestions! Thanks.

My s.o. is applying for a medical residency in the US. We'll know where we're going to be placed in mid-March and chances are good that we'll end up in Baltimore, New Haven or Providence. I work in a field with very limited options in these three places and I'm wondering what I can do over the next few months, if anything, to prepare in case I have to move and get a new job.

At the end of August I heard an author being interviewed on the Baltimore NPR about her book on the history of Maryland. I was in the car and couldn't write down her name or the name of the book, and I can't seem to find it listed on Amazon. Does anyone know what this book might be?
In the part I heard she was talking about Maryland's history as a Catholic/Royalist haven, and the tensions this caused with neighboring Virginia.

I am looking for things to do that are unique to Baltimore, preferably walking distance (or public transportation accessible) from the Inner Harbor area. I like weird, kitschy, gothic, silly stuff. I enjoy the works of Edgar Allan Poe and John Waters. I have no dietary restrictions so bring on the food recommendations. I already plan to visit the American Visionary Art Museum and grab food at Cafe Hon and Helmands. Anything else off-the beaten path?
