TL;DR: How do you get rid of a toxic roommate when they literally have nowhere to go, no one else willing to take them in, and no money to find a place of their own? IF it gets ugly, violent, I'll call my friend who lives in the complex and get help with immediate removal... but I don't want to make this guy homeless unless he becomes a real threat. I'm trying to think of clear ways to communicate boundaries and deadlines, such as giving X amount of time to save up deposits for a place of his own now that he has a job again. That's the kind of advice I need please. [more inside]
My 3 month old kitten began nursing on his own nipples 3 days after adopting him. I've owned him for two weeks so far. He does this ritual immediately before preparing for bed (with my husband and I) and sometimes during the day before he naps. Is there a way this can be stopped, or has it already turned into a (bad) habit? Someone suggested a (pet's) shirt that can cover his nipples. Another suggested "calming" spray just before bed. Is there an ointment I can rub on his nipples that tastes DISGUSTING to prevent him from continuing to do this? Please help!

A month ago I successfully applied and received an offer for an internal role. Initially, everything was good but for the last two weeks neither the new management or director have communicated at all with me. I am supposed to start this upcoming Monday, but with two days to go I haven't heard anything regarding my new project or even where to show up. I have sent several emails to the new manager and still haven’t heard from them. What is your recommended course of action? [more inside]

One of my favorite traits about my boyfriend is his loyalty - to me, his family, his friends. However, his roommate and close friend has been in a dysfunctional, drama-filled relationship with a single mom and continues to cheat on her with other women. My boyfriend has helped him not get caught out on several occasions. Am I being unreasonable in thinking he's enabling some pretty sleazy behavior? [more inside]

Last week I saw my snarly, reclusive next door neighbor dump something on the fence where the neighborhood cats come in, and then put a cap back on a jar the stuff came from. Twice in one week. Looked like a Drano jar to me from afar. I later snuck over to the fence and got a sample of it and put it in an envelope. So before I go off the deep end, where do I get this stuff analyzed? I used to use and love an iOS app called GroupShot that helped you magically combine the good parts of multiple photos into one to help fix issues like when people don't smile or accidentally blink or when they aren't all looking at the camera at the same time. The app no longer works right and I can't find any others like it! Anyone know of any other apps out there that do that? [more inside]

I recently got my friend hooked on "so-bad-they're-good" movies. We're looking for more to watch together, but the last few haven't tickled our funny bones quite like the others we've watched. Happen to know of any quality bad movies that might leave us in stitches? So far we've enjoyed these films the most: The Room, Troll 2, Birdemic, Miami Connection, and Sharknado.

Hello, I've got a mass of ivy leaves growing along the side of my house, digging its way into the brick and poking through windows at some points. The ivy is growing from a "bed" with a couple of other plants (my terminology may be off, I'm not much of the gardening type). I want this ivy to die. The other plants that are growing near it are acceptable collateral damage. What I'm looking for is basically the chemical equivalent of a flamethrower. I'd like to buy something I can dump all over the roots and then come back a few days later to find all of the ivy growing on the side of my house dead.

On September 28, 1988, James Brown led police on a two-state high-speed chase, for which he ultimately served three years in prison on a six-year sentence. This spectacle has been memorialized in two songs I know of: Big Audio Dynamite's James Brown and Pop Will Eat Itself's Not Now James, We're Busy. Are there other songs that chronicle this event? Hello all. I'm a software developer, and I seem to be a magnet for batsh*t when it comes to jobs. During interviews, I've been outright lied to. Once I get on the job, I invariably find the positions I take are just not what the interviewer made it sound like they would be. Ultimately, I find these jobs descending into madness. Literally. I've found myself on the receiving end of everything from disrespect to downright mentally abusive behaviors. [more inside]

My wife has had an awful day. I mean awful. She is stressed, upset, feeling pretty depressed about it. Between the kids having a rough day and one of her clients cheating and taking advantage of her, her short term self-esteem and resiliency are shot. Wow... she has every right to feel this bad. I've got 30 minutes to try to do something nice for her before she gets home. What little things would make you feel better after a rough day? [more inside]

I'm doing an international presentation about rebranding, and I need to educate the audience about how logos are not the brand, but just a representation of how the public views them. I want to do a little exercise showing a bunch of brands with negative associations and ask them to think about how they feel about them. The first logo I've thought of is the swastika, but I don't want to Godwin myself. [more inside]
I'm asking this question because I can't really verbalize it as well as I'd like to since I'm trying to look at it from all perspectives. I've been under the management or oversight for a couple of total assholes this past year and a half. The first was the director of the graduate program I am on leave from, and the second is my current boss, a cafe owner. [more inside]

I have been having a "war" with some competitors. They meet in the same restaurant where I've called a meeting next week. My meeting is couched as an "open meeting" (meaning anyone who is interested can come). It's a roundtable meeting of like minded people and meant to be informal, and it's not through any employer. I've put the invitation up publicly onto a blog. The problem is, if the three people who I've warred with were to show up, the meeting could quickly become their meeting. I want to take hold of the reins of my own meeting. [more inside]

So I was interested in this old Mercedes posted on craigslist and called the guy. He said it had just been crashed into in his driveway by his cousin and his insurance was "totaling" it; however it was really just cosmetic damage and there was a buyback option. The car would have "salvaged" on the title, but since he was getting paid by the insurance company, he would just let me have the car for whatever the buyback cost was. Called a few days later and he said that cost was $1000 less than the price he had originally advertised the car at, so I figured I might as well go look at it. Read on for the whole story... So I've got the classic dilemma- to eat or not to eat. I have some chorizo (the mexican variety, olé brand, if it matters), that I opened maybe two, three months ago. The chorizo is stored in individually wrapped sausage shaped holders. The sell by date on the package is June 16, as in next month. When I broke open one of the wrappers, the chorizo still smells divine inside. Is it ok to eat it since the main package was opened? Does the air outside of the little wrappers cause what's inside them to go bad? The internet was full of generalizations ("it's ground meat, of course it will go bad"), but I'd like a more definite answer. Anybody know?
