In spring of 2014 I will be getting an iPhone 5S. I cannot figure out how to get a plan that includes tethering so I can generate wifi for my non-cellular iPad mini. What will I need to do to activate that during my order (I am switching from Verizon to AT&T) and how do I find out how much it will cost in addition to my unlimited talk/text plus XGB of data? I have already contacted customer support and they have given me the same unhelpful stuff that's on the AT&T website.

I can't stand my iPhone 4S any longer, but I've still got a year and a half to wait for the contract to end (AT&T). I'd love to switch to an Android, because I'm sick of having to use iTunes just to get a few songs on to the device. I'd like to get an HTC One X, but am open to suggestions. What are my options for replacing this piece of crap? Should I just try and unlock/sell my iPhone on craigslist?

Is there a reason not to buy an iPhone from AT&T, pay the ETF, and get it unlocked, instead of paying for an unlocked phone? [more inside]

All of a sudden, my data usage with AT&T has gone way up. How can I be using data while I'm asleep? And on wifi? [more inside]

I'm planning on pre-ordering the new iphone tomorrow. I'm eligible for the AT&T upgrade plan. Is there a price difference between ordering it at an AT&T store versus an Apple store? I thought is was the same in terms of price, but a friend recently told me the discount was larger at the AT&T store. Thanks for the help!

Mrs. Argyle's iPhone is broken. The SIM card won't stay seated. Apple says the water damage telltale is red, so they won't touch it for repair, nor will AT&T repair it. The water damage telltale invalidates all warranties. From what multiple calls with AT&T tell me, my only option is paying full replacement cost of the iPhone ($400) for a new one. Does anyone know of other or better options? Thanks.

My iPhone is broken and not covered by warranty (water damage), what is my best option (b/c ATT won't let me just
buy another iPhone)? [more inside]
