I'm apartment hunting in British Columbia. When a landlord asks me to fill out a rental application, but doesn't ask for a deposit right away, how binding should I consider the application?

I live in the state of pennsylvania in montgomery county.I rented apartment from craigslist on a verbal monthly lease with $650 security deposit. After 8 months I gave the landlord moving out notice of 30 days to find a new tenant. its been almost 11 months and she has not given me $300 of the initial security deposit back.
I cleaned the house and she had no issues.
Is there any way i can get the money back. I have tried to contact the person multiple times through email and phone but no reply.

SecurityDepositFilter: I think I'm being screwed in Virginia. The situation is complicating by many factors, but mainly by the unwillingness for either the landlord or primary tenant to communicate with me. I was a subtenant with no written lease but a legitimate verbal agreement.

Does my landlord - who told me I'd have to leave in the next few months - have to send me a letter asking me to vacate my apartment for me to avoid paying a penalty for giving them only 2 weeks notice?

When I signed the lease on my apartment, I put down first month's rent, last month's rent, and security deposit. Now the building has changed hands, I'm moving out, and my brand-new landlord is telling me I need to pay last month's rent again and she'll refund it later, along with the security deposit. Does she have any right to require me to do this? New York is the state.

Ontario property management firm charging "service fees" just to apply for an apartment rental? This has got to be illegal.

I'm moving out of my San Francisco apartment, after renting it for almost 4 years. My wood floors have taken a beating. Any ideas what I can do to make them look their very best for my final inspection? Is there a definition of normal wear and tear?

Have you done a short-term sublet (or housing swap)? If you were the renter: how did you evaluate applicants, and how did you help your subletter feel at home? If you were the subletter: what worked, and what do you wish the renter had done for you or told you? I'll be subletting my apartment in NYC but I'd love to hear from people in all areas & situations.

Recently I applied for an apartment and put down a $600 deposit. I was told $450 of the deposit was refundable. I didn't take the apartment, and they took all my money.

ApartmentFilter: Is it financially safe to not clean up impeccably when moving out of an apartment, or will a landlord normally go after you for money over and above the security deposit, if they think enough work was involved?
