I'm getting a Fitbit Flex soon and am planning to use its silent alarm feature so my partner can keep snoozing undisturbed while I rise and shine. I'd still like to have a noisy alarm as a backup just in case, though. Is there an Android app available that can do either of the following things:
1) notices that I'm already up (via the motion sensor, or unlocking the screen) and will skip any upcoming alarms or
2) has a really quick way to skip the next alarm (say, from the notification bar or a widget on the home screen) - if I have to open the app I'm likely to forget.
I believe KitKat has feature #2 in the stock clock, but my S3 Mini is still on version 4.1.2 and I'm not sure if/when an update will be coming.

I love the Google now widget ...except for one thing, I've no control over what it shows. I particularly like the way it displays stock prices and would like a constant stock graph as a widget with the same look and feel (or close to it) of the Google Now cards - does it exist?

Is there some way (e.g. software I can install) that I can have every URL I visit automatically sent to my email address? [more inside]

Background: I work for a (small) company and was put in charge of helping manage the creation of a smartphone app, related to our business (both clients and non-clients would find it relevant) and geared at business professionals in the US. I was given this task due to capacity and not skill, so it's been a learning curve. An outside developer was brought in to actually create the app (for both iOS and Android). Both versions are functionally identical (with identical text in the respective stores) and sell for the same price ($1.99, if that's relevant).
It's now been a few months since the apps went live in their respective stores. Our PR firm has been helping promote the app to generate sales/spread the word. As it turns out, the iOS version is outselling the Android version by a factor of 12 to 1. Given that Android appears to have a much larger market share than Apple, this seems a little odd.
I'm looking for input from those who have sold apps in both stores to see if this is akin to their experience or any resources that might help explain why this is. I've done some searching on my own (both here in the green and on the web) but haven't found anything concrete.

I really enjoyed playing The Silent Age

I (well, actually Mrs. jferg) have a website that I need to log into on a regular basis (form-based authentication), check a given page for updates, and possibly perform an action if that update meets certain criteria. The website does not feature a push-type notification (no e-mail, text messaging, or anything else), and I am just a consumer of the site. I would like to have the checking of the site happen in an automated manner (every 10 minutes or something), and send an alert to a mobile device (ideally iPhone, but Android is a possibility). For bonus points this alert could be able to be responded to to trigger the monitor to take appropriate action, but that's a pony feature. What tools are there out there to do this? [more inside]

Are older phones or phones designed for poorer countries any less susceptible to spying than the latest Apple, Google or Android models? I've read about CEO's looking for the very old brick phones because since they don't have the sophisticated technology of the modern phones, they're harder to monitor or track. I understand the phones w/o apps are clearly more secure regarding third parties because they aren't sending personal data to companies. But what the government and everything else; voice, location via cell towers, SMS; the very basics.

A friend purchased a generic smart TV box (running Android 4.2) for use as a PVR for her elderly mother for Christmas, but is seeking a port of the MythTV back-end.
It seems like it should be simple, but neither of us has been able to find an answer. Compiling the source code is apparently not an option as that would void the warranty and they are not comfortable.
Does anyone know of an alternative that isn't a paid subscription service (a TV guide like ICE TV) for Australia that will work?
I'm not that smart in PVRs, but we are both comfortable with Linux at different levels.

I've tried resetting defaults in Chrome and email, and uninstalling the updates, but it still keeps insisting if I want to share, I have to do it via email - whereas before, it'd allow me to decide which service to share to.
