wedding reception activity for tables that people would want to do?

We are getting married and we want to have mini pinata-type things on each table at the reception (11 big tables). We want to put some fun stuff in the pinata (like glow sticks for later on) - including - some sort of activity. We want people to break open the pinata and then have to do something as a table. Not terrible or terrifying, very fun. 5-10 minutes. But what? What are your ideas for fun activities they can do? ALSO, what else should we put in the pinata that is fun and (ahem) cheap? Thank you!

How should I describe Metafilter as an activity?

I'm about to be filling out an application that asks for my extracurricular activities, and during a conversation with an advisor, in which I mentioned my involvement in Metafilter, I was encouraged to include my participation here in my list (particularly because of the IRL aspects of it: monthly board game meetups at my home, arranging meetups when I travel to new places, participation in Secret Quonsar swap, etc.). I'm not sure yet if I do want to include MeFi on that list, but I'd like an idea of how to describe it for this purpose to people who probably have no idea what Metafilter is. How would you describe MeFi in this context? [more inside]

Stranger came up our driveway twice. Should I call the police?

My brother tells me that he saw a white pickup truck park outside our house. An older guy in his 60's or 70's walked up the driveway about 3/4 of the way, turned away from our house, stood there watching the street for about 10 seconds, then walked down. He repeated all of these actions one more time, then left. We had no cars at the house at the time, so I'm assuming he thought no one was home. Considering he didn't knock and came up twice, I'm worried about this and am wondering if it would be going too far to call the police. Can you think of any other possible reasons for someone to act in this way? Details inside. [more inside]

Activities for a long hospital stay. Difficulty level: vision loss.

My sister is in a rehab hospital recovering from a brain injury. She has a lot of time between physio and therapist sessions and she has to entertain herself. Unfortunately she now has limited, blurry vision (legally blind) - she can enlarge text messages and facebook messages but reading a book is too difficult. She has an iPad but is limited to rewatching movies that she is already familiar with as it is otherwise too difficult to see what is happening. She is getting tired of sitting there just listening to audiobooks and I would love to hear any other ideas you might have (including simple apps/games) that could help keep her occupied. Thankyou!

Fitbit? One or Flex?

Due to events beyond the scope of this AskMe, high-intensity exercise is currently off the table for me. I need to stay active in order to manage a bunch of minor but chronic health conditions, though, and I know from previous experience that gamification works really well to keep me on target. So I'm in the market for a Fitbit or something like one -- I have a pedometer app for my phone, but that doesn't work so well for on-all-day functionality. But which fitbit? [more inside]

Awesome activities in and around New York City?

I'm looking for more awesome things to do in Manhattan, or within an hour or two's drive (i.e. chartered bus). Within one day or possibly including an overnight stay. [more inside]

Roadblock: Who wants to get down?

Every year for our gift exchange, there's a theme. This year the theme is kind of action - adventure related, think about some of the activities on the Amazing Race. I'd like to give something more "do something" than "get something" this year, given the following parameters: I'm looking for things like zip lines, running-related, climbing activities, bungee jumping, etc. I don't live in the area so the phone / email / online part is important since I can't go down in person.

Activity Suggestions On A Cruise

After two years of savings, my wife and I are going on a a cruise to the Western Caribbean. Islands we are stopping at are St. Maartens, St Thomas, and San Juan. I would like to know if there are UNIQUE places, restaurants, shopping or fun things we can do on each island. I am not necessarily looking for the "canned" trips organized by the cruise lines. Both my wife and I are in our 60's so mountain climbing, ect would be a bit too much for us.
