I have about 500 PNGs. Each is 8" wide and anywhere from 1" to 5" high. I need to assemble them into a PDF, as many images as possible that will fit per page without cutting off.

Seeking Adobe Acrobat replacement for Mac OS X. I have Acrobat 8 Standard for Windows, which has served me well. But Adobe only offers their "Pro" version for Mac, which costs way more than I want to spend ($450), and it's also more than I need. So I'm looking for an alternative; free is great, but willing to pay for a solid software package. Intuitive and easy-to-use is a big plus. List of features I tend to rely on most in the "More Inside" section.

Let's say I'm an in-house graphic designer working on a sale sign template for a company with several locations. I've got Helvetica. The various locations don't. I'd like to make a fancy template in InDesign, and then create a PDF form where employees can alter small portions of the text and then print the completed sale sign at their location, still using the Helvetica. Is this possible?

Can anyone recommend a plug-in that allows adobe acrobat to sort pages by page number? I inserted page numbers into a document; extracted certain pages into separate files, and then combined them again; the page numbers were off as a result (and there are some dupes). Adobe Acrobat/Distiller query: I choose Adobe PDF 9.0 from the print dialog of Word 2008 on my Mac, and choose PDF/X-1a:2001 from the PDF Options. I click Print, am asked for a filename/location, the printing queue window opens, but NO FILE IS SAVED! What am I doing wrong? If I try and open the Word doc from within Acrobat, to output it there, it tells me it can't be outputted as a PDF/X-1a file.

I have a PDF form that I modified from an existing PDF form, adding a new page and a few new fields. The new fields I added are visible on the screen but not visible when I print the form.
Other parts of the form work fine, it is only 4 text fields I added. Other checkboxes work and show up fine.
I am fairly inexperienced with editing PDFs and using LiveCycle Designer (I have version 7) and can't figure out what the heck I'm missing and I can't extract anything from the help guide.

How can I convert a Word document to a pdf while keeping the margins the same width? We are working on a 5 MB Word document, created with Word 2003 on a PC running Windows XP. The margins must be 1 inch wide. When we convert it to pdf, the right hand margin becomes 1.25 inches wide, and random phrases become boldface. We've tried Acrobat 8 and a freeware converter (dopdf).

I am using adobe acrobat pro 8. I have a basic text field in a simple form. How in the hell do I get a subscript character in there (I want put in the text "H2M DEVELOPMENT CO." with the "2" as subscript)? Is this something boneheadedly simple I am missing? I can do it in two seconds in any word processor...your help will be mos appreciated - thanks in advance!!!
