I cleaned my brick planters with a strong solution of muriatic acid, parts worked will, but one major section turned white with a film. How do I remove the film? The advice I read is to use muriatic acid to remove the film, but that seems to be causing the film on this one section.

YANAD - but I went and saw a doctor and I'm still a little confused about things! The medication isn't helping and the symptoms aren't "standard", so is this reflux or something else? [more inside]

I went to the ear nose and throat doctor today for a ear problem and he "puffed" boric acid powder into my ears that was in a clear glass bottle with a metal horizontal straw that puffed the white powder. Is this usually pure boric acid powder or do they dilute it with cornstarch or baby powder or something. It seems like it would be too strong to use the pure stuff but what do I know.

I spilled antifungal nail liquid (undecylenic acid) on the seat cushion of my fabric couch. It dried out before I had a chance to rinse it out. I searched on line for things like "remove antifungal" but just got results like "antifungal removes", "remove antifungal from cell membrane", etc. I called Sally Hansen and they said if water didn't get it out, to go someplace like Home Depot and they would know what to use. I removed the seat cushion cover and tried rinsing it, but it didn't work. Rather than making a trip and possibly finding out that they don't know exactly what to use, or getting sold the wrong thing, can anybody here tell me what to do?

I noticed the last couple days almost every time a take a sip of water a little goes down the wrong hole into my lungs and makes me cough. What is wrong with me? I should mention I have acid reflux but I have had it for over a year now with nothing like this happening.

Seattle area telecom: Can anyone suggest a battery distributor/warehouse that stocks deep cycle lead acid batteries of the type suitable for a DC UPS? Shipping costs on these are very high so we would prefer to buy from a dealer somewhere along I-5 in the area from Bellingham to Olympia. We're looking for 6V 220aH T105 (golfcart type) and AGM 12V 120aH batteries.

Trying to find a hip hop/acid jazz song that I heard on Qatar radio recently. It had rap and some Robbie Williams vocals. It may have the lyrics "chill out". That's all I have to go by.

This morning while cleaning the crock pot, I noticed that the baking soda I was using was foaming up, as if i had added an acid like vinegar. So, I poured some baking soda in a clean bowl, to see if it was the water. It foamed! Is there a reason my tap water would be so acid? The only thing I found on the internet was a vague suggestion the chlorine can cause acidity in the water. [more inside]

Okay, my friend from work came over and then he, my roommate, and I were supposed to just take ecstasy and just chill out to trance music. Somehow my friend convinced us that we should take ACID. I have always told myself that I would never do it because I was afraid of going completely and utterly insane. [more inside]

My toilet is flushing slowly. Sometimes it takes 3+ flushes to completely remove waste.
I have completely replaced all of the internals, and tried the CLR method. I have even manually cleared out the return / fill holes. It has helped some, but not enough.
I think I need to use something stronger than CLR, like muriatic acid.
The problem is I am on a septic tank and everything I read says do not use the muriatic acid method if you are on septic as it will kill all of the beneficial bacteria in the septic tank.
So, my thoughts are to use the muriatic acid to clean out the bowl, but before the first flush, use baking soda to neutralize the acid as much as possible. Then flush. After about a week, add some RidX to help restore some of the lost bacteria and after another week or so, add another box of RidX.
Is this a sound plan or should I abandon the muriatic acid idea completely?

Coke Zero, or some other acidic drink, may have done a number on my teeth, or maybe I just have lousy Québecois teeth. About one third to one half of each of my incisors and canines (from the biting edge inwards) appear slightly translucent. My dental hygienist confirmed today that there appears to be some demineralization. Is there any effective treatment to remineralize them? [more inside]

It appears as if I have a acid sensitivity. I get acne fairly often (which apparently according to homeopaths can be from acid) and I also have chronic heart-burn issues that can become very painful. Unfortunately I am not willing to give up coffee, coca-cola or spicy foods. Maybe spicy foods, but caffeine is pretty important to me, I think caffeine pills are less acidic but I always end up strung out after a few months of a consistent periodic dose of caffeine.

I'm trying to track down the source of a dialogue sample used most prominently in several My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult tracks and Meat Beat Manifesto's 'Acid Again'. It appears to be an interview with a girl describing her experiences with drugs. My Google searches have resulted in a lot of people talking _about_ this particular sample, but never the source itself. (Quotes inside...) [more inside]
