Hello, I am trying to capture AVCHD footage from a Canon Vixia HG21. The proprietary software included with the camera is no longer available to me and I need another solution. I would ideally like to use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 but it is not recognizing the camera. [more inside]

What's the best way to extract audio from MTS (AVCHD) video file into CD-writable format (WAV or MP3) on a low-powered Windows XP laptop (netbook)? Free/cheap and simple software is preferable.
