My friends went to Germany on a whim and now they are cold and miserable until their flight back in early February. I don't want them to give up hope. What are some truly awesome things that they can do in Berlin and the surrounding areas in the coming weeks?

I am a printmaker, but I have also been trained in bookbinding and papermaking, including some Japanese papermaking. We are going to Japan in late March/early April, and I would love to visit a printmaking/papermaking studio.

Planning a vacation for one. Something within driving distance of my home. Something relaxing, interesting, surrounded by nature and quiet. Wouldn't mind a place that offers up meditation classes perhaps massages etc. I live in Iowa again prefer nature setting but am willing to travel. Anybody know of something in this area that fits that description?

Mr. Arkham and I want to take a long weekend-type mini vacation in early February, somewhere either driveable or a cheap flight from DC. Our usual M.O. for picking places is to find a cool event, then plan a trip around it. He summed up what we're looking for as "arty, smarty, but with a party."

My bosses are going to Vietnam early next year and are interested in finding Art and Cultural things to do. They ask me 'cause I haven't told them of the Hivemind yet. I've looked through the old threads which dealt mostly with Hanoi (and I'm sharing those) but they're up for some travel into more rural areas. They're looking for advice not only for WHERE but WHEN. Anytime from Jan to March is good.

So my man and I are going Buenos Aires for ten days starting in about 2 weeks. I'm a theatre artist here in Austin and I know that BA has an interesting theatre scene that I'd like to check out. Anyone know of specific shows or companies that I should look for? (More about my tastes inside.)

I'm going to San Francisco for a week: 2/7-2/13. The theme for my activities will be "ingenuity." First, I'm looking for technology related art but I'm open anything that's cool and techy or even anything that makes you think, "Wow! ingenious!"

NYC Galleries Tomorrow? Taking the early Accela from Boston, getting into Penn Station at 11:30. Hitting the new MOMA for some art absorbtion - but are there other things / galleries that I should hit before the Pixies show? I'm meeting up with a friend @ 5:30 who's treating me to the concert. I'll be staying through the next noon, so that's also an option for hunting.
