In a nutshell: I'm an artist who got trapped in a day job and I no longer have enough available time to create new work. I'd like to raise money from corporate sponsors to help fund a 10 month period where I would paint some new work and then have it exhibited at my local museum. I am not interested in applying for grants because I already know it would be a waste of time for the type art I do. Art museum painting framing question. A common style of framing in art museums --- especially with abstract paintings such as Cy Twombly and Mark Rothko's works --- involves a thin strip of wood around the edge of a painting, perhaps with a few-millimeter gap between the edge of the canvas and the inner edge of the wood. The strip of wood is usually flush with the face of the painting. That's all there is to it. I would like to replicate this effect with some paintings I have. [more inside]

I am looking for a painting that I saw in the St. Louis Art Museum years ago. In my memory, it is of an African-American family on the roof of their house as flood waters circle around them. The father's hands are outstretched in a plea to heaven. I originally thought the artist was Earnie Barnes but I can't find it on his site or anywhere else on the Internets. So I'm watching the new Nasa documentary on Discovery and it prompted me to renew my search for rocket art. The issue is that if there is such a thing its not easy to find. I'm looking for prints of old rockets/spacecraft in the vein of this. Doesn't necessarily have to be photographic, but at least photo realistic. Anyone have any ideas of where to look? Bonus points if anyone knows of small scale desktop models of the old school rockets (Atlas, Jupiter, Titan, Redstone).

My dad makes really amazing wooden bowls on his lathe. He wants to sell them but there are a few issues and questions: If he sells them on the internet, where? Any one know of higher-end websites that sell quality art? His bowls have been appraised and would go for 100-200$. Also, is there a way to sell bowls at a store even accross the country?
