Trying to ID "Invisible Man" painting

We picked up this cool print of a painting at a thrift store the other day. When I saw it I thought it looked familiar somehow, but googling has yet to turn up the artist. Look familiar to anyone? The signature looks like it says "S. Seppa" but it's not super easy to read. Thanks!

Art and Chance: A list

I want to compile a list of art works that used chance operations and/or randomness in their creation. I am keen to incorporate pre-20th century, non-Western works, and lots of works by female artists, but anything you can think of will be super helpful. [more inside]

A painter who includes donated secrets in their works?

I seem to recall reading about a contemporary artist (possibly a painter) a few years back who includes secrets that are donated by other people into their work, and perhaps encodes or conceals them in some way. Google's not turning up anything useful, so I'm turning to the hive mind instead - does that ring any bells for anyone?

What technique was used to create this album artwork?

Does anyone know how to create the beautiful abstract swirls in the background of this album art? My hunch is that it was done using coloured oil, but I really have no idea, and if anyone has ever seen anything like it before and knows how to do it, I'd really like to know!

Technical name for Crayola Model Magic?

Is there a non-proprietary term for this modeling material? If not, is there a broader technical category that it might fall under? Trying to figure out how to list the materials used in an artwork, and this weird stuff is one component. I need a better descriptor than the brand name if at all possible (I realize it might not be possible.) Thanks for any help!

Antiques Roadshow... Metafilter edition!

Calling all art history sleuths and Japanese signature decipherers! I was raised with my mom telling me this antique Japanese Moriage Satsuma vase was the most expensive thing in the house. She brought it home from Japan in 1957. Now I'm curious if my mom was right or wrong... (Of course I want my mom to be right, but... she wasn't always.) I see a lot of satsuma stuff online, and the values are so varied from $80 to thousands that I don't know if this piece is actually special. [more inside]

Need business-minded advice about specializing in 2 artistic mediums

I do both analogue photography and watercolor paintings; very different mediums! I have a webpage for my photography which currently has a menu tab for my artwork, though it doesn't fit in at all with my photography or the theme of the webpage. Should I make a separate webpage for my artwork? I also sell my photography on Etsy, and would like to start selling art prints. Should I make a separate Etsy shop for my artwork? Pros and cons of keeping 2 different mediums of work together vs. separating them? Opinions or anything else I should consider?

In what style of art is the end credits for the Boxtrolls?

We saw The Boxtrolls yesterday, and I was struck by the art that played during the end credits sequence. It looks familiar, but for the life of me I can't find a name for the style or that artist. It's a sketchy sort of line drawing, black lines with color accents, lots of tall houses with ornamentation, and for some reason reminds me vaguely of 60s or 70s animation. Does anyone else know what I'm half-remembering?
