YANMD, but seriously - did I get dumber?

Four years ago, I underwent a thorough evaluation for ADHD and possible learning disabilities. Part of the evaluation was the WAIS-IV, which measures IQ. I was asked to undergo this evaluation again recently, and the IQ result was ten points lower. They tell me it's nothing to worry about, but I panicked! Can someone decipher these results and/or tell me why or why not to panic? [more inside]

How do I take a very small daily dose of Vyvanse?

The smallest dose Vyvanse comes in is 30 mg. That's too much for me, and makes me speedy. Opening the capsule and taking a much smaller dose gives me the concentration I want, without the side effects; my doctor approves of this. My guess is that 10 mg- 15 mg is the right dose for me (I understand this might change over time, but that's what it's been for a while). How do I keep the dose consistent? [more inside]

How can I overcome compulsive perfectionism with ADHD / OCD?

I have ADHD with a lot of OCD symptoms. I think the ADHD is primary, and the OCD symptoms are my lifelong coping reactions to feeling overwhelmed all the time and making endless mistakes. I'm now on Adderall, and it has illuminated how much the OCD slows me down and burdens me, but at the same time, many of my OCD behaviors are rational. They help me catch my many mistakes (while writing or in life) when my ADHD is at its worst. I need strategies to pull myself out or to help me immediately recognize when I'm spiraling. [more inside]

Spiraling downward through medication changes, insomnia, and nausea

I am a 40-something woman who was diagnosed with Bipolar II and ADHD about a decade ago. I have also suffered from chronic insomnia throughout my life, more so as I get older. Up until recently, I was able to find an acceptable sort of holding pattern through both talk therapy and medications, but a recent change of meds has sent me into a horrible, months-long insomnia, followed by a nervous collapse, followed by days of nausea and painful indigestion. I saw a doctor last week and I am going to see him again in the next few days, but I wanted see if anyone can tell me A) why I my body is acting this way, B) what I might be able to do to mitigate my situation, and C) how I might explain to my work why I am so indisposed from a confluence of individually benign ailments. My 6-year old with ADHD and SPD touches compulsively

Weekend lethargy, grogginess, oversleeping, delayed onset motivation

I used to wake early or at a reasonable hour on Saturday and Sunday, fill my day enjoying all the things I love to do, and feel happy. Controlled prescription run out

I live in Ontario and I'm prescribed Concerta by my family doctor. I've been taking it for years. I'm an adult. The last time he re-wrote my script he gave me 4 refills of 30 days, which are all up. Now he's on vacation until next month. I had no notice and I'm wondering if there's any other way to have my prescription refilled. I expect walk-ins and pharmacies will be skeptical/unwilling since the drug is controlled/monitored.
