I like discovering and reading about [old-ish but not too old] cars. Thing is, I seem to have very odd, particular tastes and I can't find a magazine that really suits it. Does anyone have any suggestions for magazines (paper or electronic) to subscribe to? [more inside]
I have a vague memory of a single bit of a movie I saw in the early 90s (don't know how old the movie was tho). Three kids, on the lip of a giant TV screen. The sky was orange/yellow/green stormy. The movie villain was threatening them, and they either pushed him into TV land, or they themselves jumped into it to escape him. Any guesses?
What is the 80s or 90s pop song with a similar melody to the one in Super Freak/Can't Touch This? It sounds like the same intervals, but sung with the "words" da-dee-day-doh. I want to say it could be from the UK, possibly somewhere else in Europe. I think the album cover is black and white and could be a picture of people walking. Sorry for how vague this is! Any ideas?
I'm looking for songs that mix 80s and/or 90s pop with other genres. My favorite example of this is Orbital's Halcyon - And On And On Live that samples Bon Jovi's You Give Love A Bad Name and Belinda Carlisle's Heaven Is A Place On Earth. Any other genre is fine but electronic genres are preferred. Thanks!
Sometime between 1993 and 1996 I watched this movie - I think on the movie network - and it took place on what I think was one of those experimental US military aircraft. It was kind of like die hard in a plane - one rugged hero overcoming the odds and taking out the bad guys (and I think saving the girl). I could've sworn it had Dennis Quaid, but I can't find any matching description on IMDB. It wasn't con-air or executive decision. I'm guessing it was from the early 90's, but it could have been late 80's.
Where can I listen to some classic alternative music (or whatever the genre is called) online? [more inside]
One of my good friends had very little interaction with pop culture through childhood and most of college, and so missed out entirely on the now-classic music videos that were airing on MTV and VH1 up through the mid-90s. They're interested in improving their music video literacy, so I'd like to put together a playlist for them. Help me make sure I don't miss anything!
What was that old (80s/90s) British TV ad with the boy who comes home from a camping trip and says "Pretty exhausting, really"? I'd like to find it on YouTube if possible, but even knowing the name of the product would help.

What is the name of the movie or show with this plot?: A young girl with an abusive father is given a black-robed doll name "the Viper." At night, the Viper comes alive as a human-sized version of itself with green, glowing eyes and helps the girl. Near the end of the movie/show, there is a twist where the Viper is actually the girls father or something along those lines.
