The Christmas season has me thinking about a toy I had as a child in the late 70s and early 80s. I don't know what to call it -- or even what category
of toy it is, so I can't search for it with Google. [more inside]

Is there a term for the type of portrait that contains two angles of the same person's face in the same photo? I'm thinking of this style
(Will Ferrell). Another example here
These were really popular in the 70s and 80s.
I want to get one of the style portraits taken but I don't even know how to describe it, or how to search for it. Does anyone know a name for this style, or even a way to explain it?
Also, have you ever seen it being offered these days, and if so, where?
I have seen these previous Askme's (1
) but they don't really help. Also my google-fu is useless except for that Will Ferrell portrait.

Looking for a link to this image and/or information about artist, please.
Fantasy-like/surreal art, landscape orientation. Circa 70s - early 80s - there may have been other similar prints. Female face/eyes (large), with 2-3 small sparrow-like birds gazing up at her from the lower corners of the image. Greyish and yellowish tones throughout, "misty" feel. (I think the last name of the artist starts with F ?). Any ideas?

Please help me find the names of three vaguely recalled movies from my past: a teen flick from the 80s, a dubbed (possibly Italian) horror film from the 70s, and a scifi adventure from the 60s (maybe)? [more inside]

When and why did pitch invasions/court-storming/rushing the field end in professional, american sports? I see highlights in the 70s from Hank Aaron's 715, Yankees winning their division, even the Celtics winning an NBA championship in the early 80s where the fans celebrate with the players (or try to take hats off of their heads).
In my sports lifetime,(post 1992), I cannot recall a single moment of this happening in pro sports (in America).

Looking for books about the history of HIV/AIDS in North America. Wanting both clinical/ epidemiology and social narratives. Also, would love anything that touches on stage performers and the affect it had on creative fields during the 80s.

Weird alien living-desk-lamp or exotic flower in some suburban British home. Another super-vague childhood TV memory question. U.K. late 70s/early 80s. [more inside]

I want to listen to luscious old (pre 90s) music that sounds fresh and as if it could have been recorded and released today (in terms of production values, instrumentation, orchestration, etc.) Can you recommend some? [more inside]

I am looking for music that evokes the spirit of nostalgic, 70s-80s-era, variety show, Saturday morning cartoon, vintage game show-style aesthetics, like The Go! Team
or...umm -- well, anything that sounds like TG!T really, then.

What are some good 70's and 80's songs suitable for playing in a pharmacy?
My father owns a family pharmacy and we have an iPod with nice 70's and 80's songs set to play for the customers. Can you tell me some that I can add to the playlist? Remember nice calm easy listening ones are best, and no dirty or bad songs about dying etc.. To get an idea of some of the songs I have here's a link
to the playlist so far.
Specific songs are great, but I will also take artists. Try not to give duplicates. If 10 people give 10 songs that's 100 new songs! Thanks!

I am trying to find the title of this film I remember scantily from my childhood. I do remember belly-laughing at this film when I was a kid, but can't remember for the life of me more than just a few details. Here's what I know (or think I remember)... [more inside]

Prog Rockers? It's safe to come out... even if only for a couple minutes. That's it, c'mon. I'm looking for people's opinions when it comes to "desert island" must-have progressive rock album classics from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Can you recommend a few?
