Why are my wireless routers flakey? I have a Comcast cable modem, which I use with a wireless router to create both wired and wireless networks. I have tried 3 (!) different wireless (802.11b/g, WEP) routers (Belkin F5D7230-4, Netgear WGR614, Apple Airport Extreme). In each case, the wired connection has been stable, but the wireless signal periodically disappears without warning. It's not just an interference issue, because power-cycling the router fixes it immediately. [more inside]

802.11g cards that work well in Linux. What has worked for you (and under what kernel)? Is there any advantage in getting a card with a native driver instead of using ndiswrapper? Do they speak successfully to both G and B access points? Even better if the card is available in both PCMCIA and PCI.

One of the things I like most about my iBook is that the wireless adapter is internal and doesn't protrude from the system. Does anyone know of a PCMCIA 802.11b (or g) WiFi adapter for a PC laptop that doesn't protrude beyond the PC card slot?

VPN problems: I'm trying to find a basic wireless router (802.11b) that will let me have more than one VPN connection passing through it. All the consumer models I see support VPN but will only let me have one computer using VPN at a time. Anyone know of such a product or - even better - use such a thing?
