I'm trying to design an invitation to a combined housewarming/40th birthday party (two separate people) and I want some pictures on the invitation which are in the style of 'sophisticated' but also kind of naiive late 50's/early 60's illustrations/cartoons but I'll be damned if I can google search what I'm looking for. We are sending a capsule into deep space to carry a sample of America as it was in the 60's and 70's. We can include 12 CDs (or albums transferred to CD) to reflect popular music of the time (1960 through 1979.) What 12 CDs best represent what was happening then?

I just found a big box of old Playboys that cover dates from the mid sixties to the early eighties. I got to reading them (clothed) and you know what? Everything I've ever heard about how good the articles are is true! I'm sure they still have hot babes, what I'm asking is are they still writing these great, edgy articles about culture and politics, or are they basically FHM now? I mean these magazines have articles from everyone from Andy Warhol to P.G Wodehouse for chrissakes. [more inside]
