Can anyone identify a 1980s TV movie about ghosts? I recall seeing it in the early- to mid-1980s as a child. I don't remember much except a scene in which a woman gets out of the shower in a very misty bathroom and goes to the mirror. Behind her in the heavy steam you see a ghost standing there in the reflection. At another point in the film the ghost may write on the mirror in the mist? But I may be misremembering that last part. Many thanks.

I'm trying to identify prominent Australians, preferably from the 1980s who had a moustache. Think Magnum PI, but Australian. For what its worth, I've already identified just about every bloke that played cricket for Australia in that period. Bonus points if you can tell me some songs about moustaches too.

Does anyone remember this cereal from the 1980s? The commercial was for a hot cereal so gross-looking that the kids had to wear paper bags on their heads, but they said it was really great-tasting and chocolatey. Is this just my own imagination at work, or did it actually exist?

help me ID this song from the 80s:
This is a song about a sweater, how it possibly unravels, or involves a boy and a girl, and would have been played on the radio as a new release in the 1980s.
Not Weezer's Sweater Song, something different!
It was odd (maybe a novelty song?), involving more spoken language than actual singing. King Missile's Detachable P*nis always reminded me of this earlier song for some reason.
I've been trying to figure out this song for years, and any searching I do turns up Weezer, and that's not it. I remember it getting a lot of radio play in Knoxville, TN where I grew up, some time during the 1980s.

I'm trying to find the name of or clips from an animated film that I saw on HBO or Showtime in the mid-1980s. It was about a robot who was looking for its mother. Some of the other robots said "One! One! One!" a lot. And there was a dumb joke in the middle: "Did you hear the one about the fire in the circus? The heat was intense!" Can anyone help?

Help me identify this movie! 1980's: the big identifying point I can remember: Teens meet an alien. Out in space, the alien gets into a confrontation with a larger alien, and the audience can't understand what's going on... Afterwards, the most laconic of the teenagers turns to the others and says, "I think that was his dad!" and they realize their alien friend is a teenager too. [more inside]

I am looking for photos of the Cambridge, MA area taken between 1950 and 1999. I am especially interested in the commercial areas along the current Red Line route (Porter/Harvard/Central/Kendall), and the industrial areas southeast of Central Square. If you happen to know of any repositories of offline photos, that would be cool too. Thanks!

Trying to remember an early '80s (possibly Canadian) short film shown on HBO's Short Take (right after a video for the original "Don't Stand So Close to Me," which might place it around 1980/81, maybe later?) about a prep-school kid who spots a punk rock girl on a train and dreams that he's kissing her.

Back before the internet, how long would it take for legal decisions to be published, and how quickly would a lawyer be able to find out about new decisions? I'm hoping for the recollections of some of you older lawyers, but primarily I would love to find a printed resource for this type of information.
I've been looking and looking and can't seem to find the info anywhere. I am looking at the late 80s-early 90s.
I've looked for law review articles, caselaw, and general internet info on this subject and can't find anything. If a lawyer relied on a case in 1989, how long after a case reversing it was decided would it be published?

When I was a kid (mid-1980s, early-90s) I was obsessed with these compendiums of Japanese illustration they had where I took art lessons. Most of the art was airbrushed; a lot of hyper-realistic work in the vein of Hajime Sorayama
, which I don't mind, but some of it was this cartoony airbrush style I love. In particular there was this cartoon dog who wore a suit which I'd like to find again. I'm not sure what the advertisement was for, but it features a cartoon dog wearing a suit in various situations with a weird cast of characters. On a rollercoaster, etc. i know that is vague, but does anyone know what this is?
The style is pretty similar to the boxart for Hudson's Adventure Island
. Does anyone know who did the art for that game? Any artists I should check out based on that style?

Late 1980s or very early 1990s made for television science fiction mini-series. All I remember is that it involved some space ships that joined together to form something else, at least a couple of kids, possibly an abandoned/run-down space station or colony, and a mystery to be solved by flying all over the place. Like all such things I probably wouldn't enjoy it now, but would like to watch it again if possible.
