I've been wracking my brains trying to remember the identity of this female folk singer from the 1980s-1990s. She made at least a few albums targeted at kids, incorporating many environmental themes. And I can't for the life of me remember even enough to do a proper Google search. Gah!

Who would you see as a seminal guitar player in the early to mid eighties? Totally frivolous question!

help me ID this song from the 80s:
This is a song about a sweater, how it possibly unravels, or involves a boy and a girl, and would have been played on the radio as a new release in the 1980s.
Not Weezer's Sweater Song, something different!
It was odd (maybe a novelty song?), involving more spoken language than actual singing. King Missile's Detachable P*nis always reminded me of this earlier song for some reason.
I've been trying to figure out this song for years, and any searching I do turns up Weezer, and that's not it. I remember it getting a lot of radio play in Knoxville, TN where I grew up, some time during the 1980s.

More than a playlist, I'm trying to make an entire sub-set of my music collection: I want the music that a 17-year-old D&D playing geeky almost-metalhead would be listening to...in 1981.

I'm looking for 1970s / 80s era stock music that may have been used in technology-related or science-themed documentaries, film-strips, commercials for tech schools, or even narrated science museum exhibits. The music sounds very dated, probably late 70s or early 80's. There is a percolating type of rhythm, and really cheesy sounding synthesizers.

He was heavily involved in the underground cassette/home taping movement of the mid to late eighties, releasing scores of solo and collaborative experimental recordings. Now he's apparently silent. Anyone know what became of
Minoy? The Google cupboard is pretty bare.
