Looking for Title of Old Cartoon

About 18 years ago (I was 5) I saw a cartoon where a kid gets lost in a forrest. He's attacked by black birds but then a spaceship lands and its pilot picks the kid up and saves him. Cut to the scene in the future with the kid, now grown up, with a metal plate in his head telling someone the story. Any idea what it the cartoon is called?

Les MaƮtres du temps?

The answer to a similar question, does that seem like the right one?

Only appropriate, given that we're a hivemind.

"The bees! They're...DEFENDING...themselves...somehow!"

Sorry. Watching it right now, and it seemed rather appropriate for this thread.
