The musical group Forest for the Trees (mainly one person, Carl Stephenson, who has worked with Beck) released an album in 1996, partially achieved one-hit wonder status with "Dream," released an EP the following year, then disappeared. What's he up to nowadays?

Not actually an answer to your question, but here are the two things on my mental index card for Forest for the Trees, dated 1997:

1. That one guy who is the band was mentally unstable.
2. Really cool official band site, all Flash.

The only thing I could find was someone asking the same question, but implying that he pulled a Brian Wilson.

Apparently he has worked on a track with Robert Smith, and on Ani DiFranco's Evolve.
