Name my club night?

Need suggestions for a name for a club night...

A couple DJ friends are starting up a club night soon and are trying to come up with a good, punchy name... something along the lines of INTAKE, EXHALE, OFFSET, etc... but not so 90's sounding.... anyone?

My old and short lived club night was called "Drive". Feel free to steal :)

It's ok if you think that sucks.

Pressure.
Haptic.
Relentless.

Just don't come to Glasgow with those names or you'll get the malky from some irate promoters.

BREEZE

SPIRAL

TUSH

DEAL

TEASE

CHOW

TOKE

CLART (look it up)

REEL

BLOW / BLOW UP

You haven't mentioned what kind of music is going on so those should cover most things. But 4-7 letters, a punchy logotype, good publicity and delivering the goods at the venue will help a lot...just don't get stoned and end up calling it 'Cosmic Carrot' like some guys I knew a while back. Heh.

Take loiseau's suggestion, add some Highland flava and a dash of 70's SF--
voila!

Just don't come to Glasgow with those names or you'll get the malky from some irate promoters.

THE MALKY is actually a pretty good name for a club!

We really need to know the kind of music, though: LOOSE JOINTS is a good name for an obscure funk and disco night, DEATH DISCO is an okay name for an asymetrical haircuts night, GUNS AND HORSES is a good name for a wiggy anything goes type night. (I'm following brautigan - nick those outside Glasgow only!)

One thing: all single word names reek of the 1990s, you need at least two words nowadays, unless it's a dubstep or grime night, in which case you can get away with it. 'The' and 'and' are maybe a bit played out now, though.

Also, speaking as someone who has written thousands of nightclub listings and hundreds of nightclub reviews, an interesting/noticable name will make it more likely that you'll get press, even if it's totally daft (regulars and those trying to sound like regulars will abbreviate/nickname the night anyway), just go for anything that stands out from all the ten-a-penny one-word, slightly scientific-sounding ones. Also, be wary of INTAKE, EXHALE or any other not-so-veiled drug reference - lameness aside, policemen have no imagination.

Personally, I'd take inspiration from the classics - MUSIC BOX, THE LOFT, PARADISE GARAGE - and refer to the space or location, rather than the style of music.
