How do I connect to my itunes library at home from my computer at work? Windows XP on both ends.

Best way is probably to set up an SSH tunnel on your home machine, so you can remotely connect to a port on it, but make it think the connection is local. Then use software like iLeech to connect to it from your work computer.

I would strongly advise you to make sure that your doing this will not cause problems with your employer, however, as streaming the audio over the Internet will chew up a not inconsequential amount of bandwidth.

There's a description with more detail on how to do this here, though it's written for a Mac on one end.

I was doing this on a regular basis and iTunes 5 seems to have broken it.

Yeah, iTunes 5 seems to use a different enough protocol to break at least mt-daap to itunes communication

If it never occured to me that this could be done, am I too computer illiterate to do it??
If not, can anyone point me to Mac to Mac instructions?

I was trying to do all kinds of fancy streaming until one day I tried just mounting my home computer's hard drives and playing the files remotely that way. Seemed to work fine in most cases. If you put in the routing mechanisms for streaming you might as well try the remote drive mounting, unless there are specific iTunes features you absolutely have to have that require having the whole library available.

Aaaaand daap sharing over my ssh tunnel is suddenly working again -- after I spent $40 for Nicecast.
