When I was in middle school P.E. in the late 1980s, we were forced to undergo mandatory jock strap inspections. Was this at all common in any region of the U.S., or did I go to a rogue middle school?

Later grades had the heavy textbook type in a monochrome cover and one was called Melody( I think this was the third grade text) and was either teal or violet. The other books in that series also had a one word title and a monchrome color scheme for the covers.

This is my first semester, and I am expected to take the qualifying exams in January. Problem is, I seem to have forgotten a lot. I have been out of school for five years since my masters, and, studying for the quals, even topics that I have covered before, nothing seems to 'stick' to memory.
