I'm training for a marathon and I use a Garmin GPS watch. I'm wondering: of course it transmits to the satellites as I move forward; but does the fact that my arm (with the watch attached) moves back and forth - as opposed to my entire body moving forward as a single unit - have anything to do with the accuracy? I apologize in advance if this sounds vague or else is even irrelevant.

So I recently moved, and as I always do, got an account with Time Warner (who are pretty much the only option in the part of Austin where I live). I noticed that my IP was resolving as either "earthlink.net" or "mindspring.com" when it should be "austin.rr.com", but didn't think much of it. However, today I found a letter in the mail containing "important information about your EarthLink account." Wot's, uh, the deal?

I want to play some iPhone music apps live on stage with my band. I'd like to plug my iPhone into an amp. However, I have the iPhone 2G (The original) which doesn't have a normal headphone-out. In Thomas Friedman's weak OP-ED entitled www.jihad.com, he writes: “Let’s not fool ourselves. Whatever threat the real Afghanistan poses to U.S. national security, the “Virtual Afghanistan” now poses just as big a threat. The Virtual Afghanistan is the network of hundreds of jihadist Web sites that inspire, train, educate and recruit young Muslims to engage in jihad against America and the West.” If this is true, could someone provide examples? I mean, I'm sure they're using the internet to recruit people, but this makes it sound far more sophisticated than I would have assumed.

Got a notice as I was browsing this morning stating Firefox had updated and as soon as I restarted it was going to install updates, did I want to restart? I didn't, but then restarted a while ago, when it restarted after install all my addons and customizations are completely gone. Everything. I probably had thirty addons, had Firefox set up so nice, exactly how I wanted it. Now what? How do I get my addons back? This has not happened in past updates -- what the hell just happened to me?
