Are you that fixed on just dropping Soulseek? The version you have might be so old that a lot of newer clients might just refuse to connect to it-- and I'm pretty sure that the servers are version-specific to a certain extent.

I logged into Soulseek a few weeks ago to find a message about how they were periodically shutting down their old server in order to prod people to migrate to the new 'test' one using version 157 NS xx
