Hawaii bound

My husband and I are traveling next month to Haleiwa, Oahu. Does anyone have recommendations for lodging--we are looking for a studio or one bedroom condo rental, preferably on the beach. Also, does anyone have restaurant recommendations in this area? Thanks!

Best answer: Dont know about lodging, but craigslist should have some good listings..
As for restaurants- Cholos Mexican is always hopping, average mexi food, best fish tacos on the north shore.. Banzai Sushi has a great atmposphere and good sushi but kinda expensive for the amount you get .. Haleiwa Cafe is my favorite spot for breakfast.... Haleiwa Joe's Grill is a really popular spot, has nice location and atmosphere and food is pretty damn good.... I havent eaten at Jameson's there, but I have been to the one on the Big Island and it was not very good at all, so not sure.... Over by Foodland on the north shore, you should go try the acai bowl for breakfast at Kava Roots, sooooo yummy!!! :)

Thats all I can say from experience, hope it helps..

Best answer: I wasn't dazzled by Banzai Sushi the few times I've been there. Haleiwa Joe's is touristy but in a nice way, and the food is good. If you drive east from Haleiwa, there are a bunch of great trucks along the highway for hot plate. Many of our nicest meals were picnics on the beach with takeout food from the trucks.

Response by poster: Osloheart and judith, thank you so much for the food recommendations--sounds really good! And we've got lodging, so sounds like we are set to go.
