Cheaper alternative to the Nintendo Wavebird?

Are there any good alternatives to the Nintendo Wavebird controller for use with the Wii?

I want to play some GameCube games on my Wii with a wireless controller. However, the prices for a used Wavebird controller on Ebay & such are quite high (around $40 min). Are there any third-party wireless controllers that will work OK for less $$? Yes, I'm aware of the current legal issues surrounding the Nintendo classic controllers.

I use a GameStop-branded wireless GameCube controller. It's not as nice as the Wavebird (the shape doesn't feel quite right), but it works.

I didn't want to pay $40 for some sweaty kid's old controller either so I bought a couple of Thrustmaster controllers (@Newegg.com, $15+ship) based mostly on this IGN review.

Thin shreds of the joysticks' grippy rubber coating started to peel after a few intense hours of SSBM but it didn't affect anything. Other than that they're great, though I cant's say anything about durability since I don't Wii much anymore. Of course I still prefer the Nintendo design...
