Does Bono cheat on his wife?

Has anyone ever heard rumours of Bono being unfaithful to his wife Ali?
Not suggesting that he has been, nor have I heard anything. Just curious.

Oddly enough, yes I have heard rumours. From an absolutely impeccable source too. I'm not sure that spreading gossip that could be portrayed as libellous on a public Web site would be the best move I ever made though.

Response by poster: Was it a member of another Irish band?

Response by poster: Actually now that i have asked the question (and the follow up) I regret it.

It was a shitty thing to ask and no good can come from it etc................ Please Delete..

No. Although something else that happened on the same night as the rumour in question that still makes me laugh is that my wife (who didn't have a clue who he was) came back from the toilets and told him to fuck off out of her seat. Ha!

Well this is totally fucking surreal.

Yeah, I was wondering if this was written in some sort of code.

A couple nights ago Karl Rove telephoned and asked me if I would still buy U2 albums if I knew Bono had fathered an illegitimate black child.

I have now. Well played.

Someone wrote a fanfiction about Bono cheating on his wife. Some people have way too much time on their hands.

I've heard rumors that, in addition to cheating, he might possibly, maybe, perchance, perhaps be a wee bit on the sanctimonious side.

Just a rumor.

A couple of weeks ago, there was talk at Fametracker's blind item thread that a particular blind item was most likely about Bono and the someone in the Corrs.

(That thread is horrifying and fascinating. I started to read it because a friend was curious about a blind item he had read somewhere, and I couldn't stop. It was like a train wreck.)

Bono and the someone in the Corrs
Maybe it's the guy who plays guitar in the background while the girls warble upfront...

This question is better suited for the fine minds at Groupie Central. You can also find out the size of Eminem's wang, while you're there.

Well this is totally fucking surreal.

Amen, brother. And yet, I am attracted to it like a moth to bright light. It was only a matter of time before someone solicited celebrity rumors, and only the great minds of AskMe could immediately validate him.

People, you must only use your AskMe superpowers for good, not evil!

Is a blind item just another word for anonymous mudslinging? Wow, doubleplusgood.

kenaman, are you in fact Ali? The link to your profile is mysteriously broken... AskMetaFilter: cheaper than a private eye.

Then why in the world would you ask?

Response by poster: Because, as people have pointed out he is holier than thou and me and I was wondering could it be true that he has not 'played away'...... I had heard whisper of a Corr which I assumed to be his bullshit and wondered........

Don't know how reliable it is, but the A-list offers up that kind of gossip re various celebs, though I don't see Bono on it.

Why do you care? Isn't it possible that Bono just has some stuff he actually cares deeply about and is actually acting upon his convictions (which, IMHO, pretty much excuses any perceived attitude- what have you done lately for your pet cause?)? Why must he be knocked down a peg because of it? Will you not sleep at night if you don't know what Bono's achilles heel is?

Sorry, but if that's really the cause of all this, that's completely pathetic. Step away, man. There are bigger problems in the world.

Response by poster: I dont really care either way, just curious...

That mirror of "A List" needs to update. That's the October '02 version. The latest update identifies Bono as an "Egomaniac," though it also calls Betty White "an absolute sweetheart."

Well, I can report that he gave me an awfully nice kiss (yes, on the lips!) when we said goodbye after I talked my way into his hotel room at the age of 17 by pretending to be a journalist. At no point, however, did he attempt to sleep with me. Given that I was looking pretty cute in my schoolgirl kilt AND Doc Marten mary janes (it was the most conservative outfit I could come up with, since I apparently believed that this is what journalists wore), I think we can safely conclude that Bono is pretty well-inclined to keep his marriage vows. (Well, at least back in the '80s.)
