Recently on the trip in Japan I bought a Canon IXY Digital point-and-shoot camera. Unfortunately it stooped working, all the guarantee papers are in Japanese. Would someone by chance know where I could send camera for repair (Canon Japan).

It's a a IXY digital 2000 IS by the way.

IXY Digital 2000 IS (Japan) = Digital IXUS 960 IS (Europe) = Powershot SD950 IS (US)

You should be able to get it serviced by a local Canon repair shop without having to send it back to Japan.

I bought a Canon IXUS 400 a few years back in Taiwan which didn't come with an international warranty. It broke after a few months and I took it in to a local distributors in South Africa. They fixed it without charge. So I would recommend trying a local authorized repair center first as junesix suggests.
