Wise franchise advice?

How does one find a non-shady franchise consultant?

So far Google has provided me with the names of a bunch of businesses willing to help evaluate whether or not a franchise would be good for me but I can't tell which are legit.

The business consultants we've used before don't do franchises.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Experience? Advice?

This is for the San Francisco Bay Area.

I'm asking for someone else- I'm not actually looking to buy into a franchise at this time.

I'd contact the friendly folks at SCORE. If they can't help you directly, they can definitely connect you with someone who can.
