Affordable conference/retreat facilities in Southern California?

I'm thinking about putting together a small fan-con next year in Southern California. I was initially leaning towards an urban event, but after I saw the UCLA conference center, I thought maybe a more "retreat-like" venue, that's set up for conferences, would be ideal. I'm looking for somewhere affordable, with rooms (not bunkhouses), and some larger performance spaces (50-200 capacity). Performance spaces don't have to be perfect, but we'd need reinforced sound at the least. It should be reasonable driving distance (say two hours or less, arbitrarily) from a big airport in SoCal (LAX, Burbank, etc). Anyone have any ideas?

Response by poster: (By small, looking for around 50 attendees, maybe up to 100 or 200 at the highest).

Decent place. I went to a conference there in 2006 with about 35 people. Dunno how much was paid for the conference rooms but the hotel rooms were only like $79.
