Firefox and Youtube aren't mating

YouTube isn't displaying videos in Firefox 3.0 (upgrade) - why?

Just did what I said I wouldn't do and downloaded the latest version of FF - and now it doesn't display any videos on Youtube. Uninstalled flash plugin - installed - doesn't help. Any ideas?

Perhaps. The latest version of flash has some problems. Try right-clicking on the video and go to Adobe Flash Player Settings. Once the little thingy pops up, click on the first tab on the bottom (monitor with paintbrush). Uncheck the box that says Enable Hardware Acceleration. Then close. See if that helps matters.

Response by poster: OK - I just downgraded to Beta 5 and the vids are loading on YT.

I ended up downgrading to 2.0.0.15 after a month of FF3 and I'm so happy I did. I had to kill FF3 a few times a day because the flash plugin would simply stop working. FF2 is rock solid, comparatively speaking.

I had similar issues with embedded YouTube videos. Following some advice I found through Google the issues went away after I uninstalled and re-installed Adblock.

Response by poster: Ok - thanks guys. After finding out that not all links on Mozilla are the ACTUAL ones and had to go to a few other sites to find the RC2 which worked before I made this horrible mistake - and reinstall that. It's back working. Moral: follow your instinct - never a crowd. Cheers :)
