What movie was this?

Are there any sites for finding movies that you've only seen bits of? I'm looking for some film that I saw a fragment of years ago, it had a fantasy setting consisting of some imposing wall or mountains between a light region and a dark region. I'm fairly sure someone killed the kind by putting a worm in his foot while sleeping. I vaguely recall the doctors using some glove to reach around inside people.

You could try Ask the AV club, sounds like it's the kind of weird movie they like for their questions.

100% White Dwarf. Awesome NBC made for teevee movie back in the 90's. The worm was called a Godshead iirc.

The "are there any sites?" part of the question got partially answered. "Ask MetaFilter" often works, but if you're in a hurry, there are tools within reach. Here's how I found White Dwarf: Starting with a few words from your question, I hit Google with "light dark doctor worm glove". The hits were overly broad, so I tried "fantasy light dark doctor worm glove". This got a lot of hits for books, so I went with "fantasy light dark doctor worm glove movie", then narrowed the search with "scifi light dark doctor worm glove movie". Somewhere in the 3rd of 4th page of results I saw "White Dwarf" mentioned, and looked it up on imdb.com. Bingo.

Elapsed time: maybe two minutes.

So that's the trick. Start with a few significant words, and then figure out how to broaden or (more likely) narrow the search by playing with the wording.

I played with google a bit, but I didn't treat the words as "independent", nor did I scroll that far down. Well, I still don't see it on my search results for "scifi light dark doctor worm glove movie". Thanks!

Any idea how to find such an esoteric TV movie on the internet? I don't think they even sell it anymore.
