gmail weirdness

Can any of you technosmart people help with weirdness in my gmail. Running Firefox 3 and the new version of gmail (googlemail in UK). When I write or reply to a message the list of actions to click on the left (inbox, starred, chats, sent mail, etc) appears on the sent message above what I've written in a vertical list. But only after I send it, it looks OK when I write it. When I change to the older version of gmail, it's OK, and the message is regular. But the older version keeps reverting to the newer version. Any ideas why -- in idiot language, please? Or what I should do to stop it?

Try it with Internet Explorer. If it works, either post a bug against FF or else use IE.

Try clicking the Reload button while holding down Shift or just pressing Ctrl+Shift+R (Command+Shift+R on Mac.)
