Any information about the Jones Beach Hotel in Wantagh NY?

Managed to find a last minute reservation for the 4th of July weekend (for a New York City getaway) but there's practically no information on the internet in terms of reviews, pictures, and I'd just like to make sure I'm not taking my wife and her friends to a dump or sketchy place. Thanks!

It sounds decent from that description. Hope you guys will have a car to go to Jones Beach. I don't think there is much within walking distance of that location. Wantagh is kind of peak LI suburbia. Think of every stereotype you can.

I'm not familiar with the hotel, but I am familiar with the area. The hotel is an easy drive or bike ride from Jones Beach but not a reasonable walk. The area it's in is more commercial than senic. JPD's use of the term "peak LI suburbia" is accurate. There's a good hamburger place on nearby Merrick Avenue.
